We just recruit.
We forge attractive workplaces and build effective teams for businesses that are going places.

London

Ashleigh

Ashleigh has been an essential part of our growth here. Despite working with a fussy hiring team, she’s managed to double our headcount in her first year and continues to find us awesome people adding to our unique culture.

Who’s coming out tonight?!”

Often heard saying

Full-time Head of People and part-time Head of Social Committee, Ash not only finds people but makes sure anyone who joins has the best experience here by making Few & Far a really fun place to work. Apart from when she sings.

You’ll most likely find her at brunch with the girls on Saturday or going fishing to find friends for Tahluah, Timmy, Tatiana and Tucker. But headhunting doesn’t stop for her on the weekend. She regularly recruits her under-qualified friends to help do up her flat.

Coming up with amazing new things to do for our monthly nights out.

Nick

Nick co-founded Few & Far in 2013 and hasn’t slept since. He spends his days managing an overly needy sales team competing for his attention & his nights at product meetups or out for drinks with said product people or founders, discussing ideas for new products of course. If he slept, we believe he would dream of product.

Who’s got a charger?”

Often heard saying

As you may have guessed, Nick is our resident cat herder & team councillor.

He found that Product Management was a skillset that often went misunderstood, he’s dedicated the past 10 years educating people about what they actually do and solving the problems companies face when hiring them.

After noting that recruitment businesses were only solving a small part of a bigger problem, he started brainstorming solutions on a whiteboard. After annoying his friends in product for feedback, he proposed our new offering and with the help of the team, it’s been refined & launched. Nick has gone back to his role as resident cat herder and team councillor.

Outside of meetings and meetups, his friends selfishly drag him from Europe to Vegas to attend their stag dos & weddings.

Keeping the senior management team happy.

Samm

Samm co-founded Few & Far.  He shared a vision to change the stereotype of recruitment. “How did they do this”, I hear you not say? To be specialists in a world of generalists, and by putting an emphasis on meetups and events. Together they built a strong foundation for the team to take this approach to recruitment. So far, so good.

“I’ve just had this brilliant idea” “I’m going to play devil’s advocate here”

Often heard saying

Originally Head of Engineering, Samm helped launched The Hacker Games in 2016, our annual charity hackathon. Unable to sit still, he handles all things operations and has helped develop our Talent Strategy offering. knowing that with our years of combined industry experience and knowledge, we can offer far more value to our clients than just “bums on seats”

Samm is lucky enough to have surrounded himself with beautiful women; his wife Gigi and baby daughter, Jessie. He has a special place in his heart for Japan and escapes there for a holiday when he can, and hopes one day Few & Far will have a home there too.

Coming up with cheesy marketing straplines.

Tony

Tony has been recruiting since 2005, starting off as a contract recruiter in the IT space for 3 years before making the transition into being a permie. He specialised in Front End Development for the first few years before discovering a curiosity and a passion for Product Management not long after it appeared in the UK from San Francisco. Since then he has spent 10 years building a substantial network across the PM industry and particularly at Senior/C level and building out teams across digital companies in London and Berlin.

Tony’s first role was very corporate and a great platform for a career in recruitment but he soon realised he could have more of a personalised feel and influence in smaller companies looking to scale. He’s helped to scale three businesses and is excited to be bringing all of his experience gained to Few&Far to help us do the same, ensuring we deliver industry-leading experiences to clients and candidates alike.

“Treat others how you would like to be treated”

Quote

Tony is here to support Nick & Samm with the company’s growth and strategy having a predominant focus on client development in the UK, Europe and globally. He will also be building out new teams and scoping out new territories and verticals to recruit into that are intrinsically linked to our current specialisms.

Outside of work, the most important thing is his two children and that’s what the majority of his time is dedicated to. Tony loves sports and the outdoors and is a bit of an adrenalin junkie, his biggest passion being road cycling, doing various different crazy endurance events for charity. This is closely followed by skiing and mountains. We also found out that he has run 11 MARATHONS 😳 Chill out, Tony.

Miles

Miles’ recruitment career started out in the engineering mobile team but as his experience in tech grew, the realisation sunk in that developers did not find him funny. After moving to product, he quickly found that his jokes were far better received by the community and he’s never looked back.

Safe… isit… what you sayin’?”

Often heard saying

Miles’ job is to find you, a product person, a job. And if you want to hire a product person, his job is finding you a product person. He also has a natural flair for writing cryptic job ads on LinkedIn, check him out.

Since Miles was a baby, he’s had a gift for spinning decks. He runs his own underground electronic music night around London, which he continues to invite Tom the raver to, and Lilli who cancels last minute.

Missing flights while in a Wetherspoons next to the terminal.

Megan

Meg is one of the youngest members of the Few & Far team as she joined us straight from school, creating the biggest age gap in the company so far, 15 years!

He’s half Dutch and half Amsterdam”

Often heard saying

Meg has been building UX & Product Design teams for over a year now and you’ll regularly at the UX Crunch. She takes her time to listen, understand and present roles which are best suited for you, providing honesty and transparency along the way.

Outside of work you’ll find Meg out with the girls getting tipsy off prosecco and wine, or attending one of the birthdays of her many brothers.

Looking innocent but makes really dark comments

Jack

After a whole year of DJ-ing with Miles, Jack realised they both do recruitment. Miles quickly swayed Jack to come and meet the team, and the rest is history!

Alright my boy”

Often heard saying

Jack is a software engineering talent consultant finding you your next opportunity with some of the most reputable companies in the UK. Jack is eager to understand your career goals and help make them a reality.

Similar to Miles, Jack is our second resident DJ spinning some naughty but nice disco beats. He also has four dogs that he cares more about than his brother and sisters.

Spending way too much money

Silvia

Born & raised in Sardinia, Silvia made the life choice of moving to London in 2013, soon after came Brexit. (No comment). She is always on the phone speaking in Italian to one of her many cousins back home in Italy during core hours, however, she still manages to get the job done!

“Why?!” & “No” – in Italian.”

Often heard saying

Silvia has joined Reece’s team over a year ago working with Software engineers & has a habit of making his life stressful. She is known for slipping under the radar & then pulling out the golden bullet of a star candidate to secure the job.

At work, you’ll see Silvia eating a tiny amount of vegetables for lunch (chickpeas & cauliflower was a strange hit for a while). Outside of work, you’ll find Silv sipping on Aperol Spritz with her many Italian friends, being the first on the dancefloor & last one-off. She is the life of the party.

Giving the most attitude but getting away with it because she’s Italian.

Tom

Look up “stereotypical recruiter” in the dictionary & you won’t find Tom Shannon’s name anywhere to be seen (mainly because you’re unlikely to find stereotypical recruiter in any dictionary or Tom Shannon’s name for that matter) The industry can have a bad name, but Tom quietly puts them to shame without even meaning to do so.

“I hate it here” – while actually loving it here.

Often heard saying

Tom is our Principal Engineering Consultant & being the humble person he is, he would feel highly uncomfortable writing something like this, which is another reason why his achievements can somewhat go under the radar (because he often forgets to tell us).

Despite his lovely long limbs (watch him do the limbo) Tom is a regular at Miles Cunliffe’s raves, a key player in Few & Far’s football team LemonGren & an avid Southampton fan.

Balancing cocktails on his head.

Reece

After joining us from the world of esports, Reece started his recruitment career here and has since been called “the headhunter the world needs but doesn’t deserve” (I wish I was joking). To us, though, he’s your friendly neighbourhood Tech Recruiter who loves Wetherspoons just a bit too much.

Get in the bin”

Often heard saying

Reece heads up the Engineering team and is responsible for making sure that the office is never quiet. Whether it’s making weird noises at his desk, creating (and then laughing at) his own memes or helping companies scale their engineering teams – he’s got you covered.

Be it after work drinks or organising the quarterly Wetherspoons night, Reece drowns his loneliness by making sure the company is constantly entertaining him. Turns out you first need a life to have a work/life balance issue.

Lilli

Lilli left New Zealand and her student loan behind to make the move to London in 2016. She originally joined as our Office / Marketing Manager. She quickly (slash strategically) moved solely into the marketing role she owns and loves today. While she may be a lonely team of one, just offer her some snacks and she’ll quickly adapt to people again.

Tell them I don’t have a phone”

Often heard saying

Lilli takes care of the overall Few & Far brand. Her aim is to drive marketing initiatives that have the highest impact for the business and works closely with Ashleigh to showcase our culture and life here at Few & Far.

Not used to having countries close by, you’ll catch Lilli making the most of Europe on her doorstep or enjoying everything London has to offer with her fellow Kiwi migraters. Food obsessed and a big passion for cooking, she judges her fellow team members strange English diets.

Digging herself into verbal holes around new people.

Ryan

Ryan comes from a background focussed in the North American IT Market, covering various US and Canadian Tech hubs. He prefers an open and honest approach, even when the news/feedback really isn’t good!

“Close…. It’s like Bryan, but without the B”

Often heard saying

The Data market is a more recent offering at Few&Far. Ryan is leading the charge uncovering all things Data, having previously focussed on the UI/UX market, but he has also dabbled in Engineering and Data roles in the past.

An avid traveller, Ryan has visited 30+ countries, and always has his next trip in the pipeline. His favourite countries so far include Japan and Vietnam, where he and his friends poorly recreated the Top Gear road trip on the Hải Vân Pass.

Ciara

Ciara (pronounced Kiera) is our resident Australian (much to Lilli’s dismay). She was actually born in Chelmsford, Essex but moved to Brisbane with her family when she was just six. Ciara decided to make the move to London at the ripe old age of 21, right before 2019 Australian summer was about to begin, and right before English winter approached (questionable life choices if you ask me).

Dah-ta” instead of Data.

Often heard saying

Ciara has previous recruitment experience from working in real estate recruitment back in Brisbane and currently sits on the B2B product team with Glen and Jordan. Working the product market means we get to laugh every time she says dah-ta (facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis).

Outside of work Ciara likes to travel, shop, and drink with friends. She studied cinemagraphic makeup and loves to experiment with it, especially when Halloween rolls around. Since making the bold move from Brisbane to Streatham, she’s spent every weekend adding to her winter wardrobe (while still in Autumn) and buying plants that she will surely kill in the coming months.

Jordan

After spending his childhood surrounded by farm animals in rural Somerset, followed by spending his teenage years in America surrounded by more farm animals, Jordan decided to pursue his childhood dream of… not being surrounded by any type of animals?

Where’s Glen. Have you seen Glen?”

Often heard saying

Jordan joined us in January 2019 and specialises in building B2B product teams alongside his dad, Glen Willis. Whether it is tennis, football or recruitment, Jordan is one of the worst losers in the world and since starting in January, this competitiveness has driven him to be a huge success.

He is Few & Far’s number 1 player, both on and off the field. You will find him in the gym after a long day at work and then in a casino waiting for Magic Mike to finish. (Don’t ask us why!)

Complete and utter confusion and shopping at baby GAP.

Jawad

After spending a year as a Front End Web Designer at Asos, Jawad realised he was a terrible developer. He then shifted focus to freelance UX design but it soon dawned on him that he liked being paid on time. Then came the move into recruitment on the UX Team. Now, we’ve given him new glasses so he feels and looks more like a designer than ever before.

Sorry, train was delayed”

Often heard saying

Jawad has now found a speciality in UX Research, a discipline that he didn’t know existed before. He spends his free time attending UX conferences pretending to be a UX designer.

You’ll often find Jawad doing photography in his spare time or watching Netflix endlessly.

Taking 1000 pictures, every hour of every day.
