We just recruit.
We forge attractive workplaces and build effective teams for businesses that are going places.

Product

Nick

Nick co-founded Few & Far in 2013 and hasn’t slept since. He spends his days managing an overly needy sales team competing for his attention & his nights at product meetups or out for drinks with said product people or founders, discussing ideas for new products of course. If he slept, we believe he would dream of product.

Who’s got a charger?”

Often heard saying

As you may have guessed, Nick is our resident cat herder & team councillor.

He found that Product Management was a skillset that often went misunderstood, he’s dedicated the past 10 years educating people about what they actually do and solving the problems companies face when hiring them.

After noting that recruitment businesses were only solving a small part of a bigger problem, he started brainstorming solutions on a whiteboard. After annoying his friends in product for feedback, he proposed our new offering and with the help of the team, it’s been refined & launched. Nick has gone back to his role as resident cat herder and team councillor.

Outside of meetings and meetups, his friends selfishly drag him from Europe to Vegas to attend their stag dos & weddings.

Keeping the senior management team happy.

Tony

Tony has been recruiting since 2005, starting off as a contract recruiter in the IT space for 3 years before making the transition into being a permie. He specialised in Front End Development for the first few years before discovering a curiosity and a passion for Product Management not long after it appeared in the UK from San Francisco. Since then he has spent 10 years building a substantial network across the PM industry and particularly at Senior/C level and building out teams across digital companies in London and Berlin.

Tony’s first role was very corporate and a great platform for a career in recruitment but he soon realised he could have more of a personalised feel and influence in smaller companies looking to scale. He’s helped to scale three businesses and is excited to be bringing all of his experience gained to Few&Far to help us do the same, ensuring we deliver industry-leading experiences to clients and candidates alike.

“Treat others how you would like to be treated”

Quote

Tony is here to support Nick & Samm with the company’s growth and strategy having a predominant focus on client development in the UK, Europe and globally. He will also be building out new teams and scoping out new territories and verticals to recruit into that are intrinsically linked to our current specialisms.

Outside of work, the most important thing is his two children and that’s what the majority of his time is dedicated to. Tony loves sports and the outdoors and is a bit of an adrenalin junkie, his biggest passion being road cycling, doing various different crazy endurance events for charity. This is closely followed by skiing and mountains. We also found out that he has run 11 MARATHONS 😳 Chill out, Tony.

Miles

Miles’ recruitment career started out in the engineering mobile team but as his experience in tech grew, the realisation sunk in that developers did not find him funny. After moving to product, he quickly found that his jokes were far better received by the community and he’s never looked back.

Safe… isit… what you sayin’?”

Often heard saying

Miles’ job is to find you, a product person, a job. And if you want to hire a product person, his job is finding you a product person. He also has a natural flair for writing cryptic job ads on LinkedIn, check him out.

Since Miles was a baby, he’s had a gift for spinning decks. He runs his own underground electronic music night around London, which he continues to invite Tom the raver to, and Lilli who cancels last minute.

Ciara

Ciara (pronounced Kiera) is our resident Australian (much to Lilli’s dismay). She was actually born in Chelmsford, Essex but moved to Brisbane with her family when she was just six. Ciara decided to make the move to London at the ripe old age of 21, right before 2019 Australian summer was about to begin, and right before English winter approached (questionable life choices if you ask me).

Dah-ta” instead of Data.

Often heard saying

Ciara has previous recruitment experience from working in real estate recruitment back in Brisbane and currently sits on the B2B product team with Glen and Jordan. Working the product market means we get to laugh every time she says dah-ta (facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis).

Outside of work Ciara likes to travel, shop, and drink with friends. She studied cinemagraphic makeup and loves to experiment with it, especially when Halloween rolls around. Since making the bold move from Brisbane to Streatham, she’s spent every weekend adding to her winter wardrobe (while still in Autumn) and buying plants that she will surely kill in the coming months.

Jordan

After spending his childhood surrounded by farm animals in rural Somerset, followed by spending his teenage years in America surrounded by more farm animals, Jordan decided to pursue his childhood dream of… not being surrounded by any type of animals?

Where’s Glen. Have you seen Glen?”

Often heard saying

Jordan joined us in January 2019 and specialises in building B2B product teams alongside his dad, Glen Willis. Whether it is tennis, football or recruitment, Jordan is one of the worst losers in the world and since starting in January, this competitiveness has driven him to be a huge success.

He is Few & Far’s number 1 player, both on and off the field. You will find him in the gym after a long day at work and then in a casino waiting for Magic Mike to finish. (Don’t ask us why!)

Complete and utter confusion and shopping at baby GAP.

Grace

Grace joined us shortly after Megan, straight from school and is one of our youngest hires so we’ve been able to mould her from scratch into a true Few & Far champion recruiter. There’s no turning back now, Grace!

I’m ALL gamed out”

Often heard saying

Grace specialises in building out B2C product teams and works closely with Miles supporting him in finding the best talent for our clients. Her bubbly approach with candidates meant that one time she actually said “love you” instead of goodbye on a phone screen.

By week, Grace manages to talk (not sing) the words to every song, you really have to see it to understand, but it brings everyone in the office a lot of joy. Come the weekend you’ll find her out with the girls with a Pink Gin and Lemonade at hand or playing with her German Shepherd, Luna aka. Pat.

Knowing every word to every song ever.

Allen

Having started a product desk at his old business, in 2014 he was swayed to join his biggest competitor with a ticket to Mind the Product Conference. Now a Few & Far’s “OG”, Mr Bastow has been through all the start-up highs and lows and has been integral in taking us from strength to strength.

Worst things have, and will happen” “It’s hotter than the Caribean in here”

Often heard saying

After six years of recruiting Product Managers across the UK and Europe, in 2018 Allen took a leap of faith to introduce Few & Far to the USA, where he’s been hands-on recruiting product teams whilst also managing a Data and Engineering recruitment team.

Allen has one child, his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Currently working all sorts of hours and traveling between the UK and US, he unfortunately has no time for anyone outside of fatherhood. Ask me to show you a man who makes sacrifices and I’ll show you, Allen Bastow.

Glen

There’s a reason he is Few & Far’s most voted MVP. Glen goes above and beyond for not only for his clients and candidates but his fellow colleagues too. He embodies what working here is all about – living up to our purpose, always putting others before himself and involving himself heavily in the community. See for yourself.

My name is not Vlad…or Grob…or Gren…or Gleb!!”

Often heard saying

The B2B Product market is constantly evolving and as the only recruiter in London specialising in this skill-set, it is safe to say Glen knows his stuff. Having been successful in building some of the best Product functions in the space, he now leads his own team dominating B2B Product.

Whilst he enjoys a good film or series, you will struggle to find Glen stuck indoors. If he isn’t working he is out for food, having drinks or travelling, it’s no wonder he is always ill or injured.

Utilising his severe nut allergy to escape meetings.

Sabrina

Sabrina has just returned from five months in the Alps where she spent her time skiing. Sabrina and her dog Henry come as an awesome recruitment duo. You will usually find them in the local pubs or parks, Sabrina’s distinctive Dublin accent usually gives them away.

“Pass the wine”

Often heard saying

Sabrina started her recruitment career when she moved to London in 2016, originally as a perm recruiter across Design and UX. But her high energy and quick personality (lack of patience) meant she quickly gravitated towards the contract market. She loves a chat and can usually be found on long calls to candidates and clients, talking about anything from design, recruitment, family to holidays.

Sabrina’s loves skiing! Seems as that can only be done for a few months of the year, she spends the rest of the year drinking red wine and visiting new countries. She also spends a lot of the time talking about her favourite place – Glastonbury Festival.

George

George has recently had a year out travelling South America. He claims he’s Scottish despite having no trace of a Scottish accent… for all we know, he’s spent more time in South America than Scotland.

“I’m actually Scottish”

Often heard saying

George has two years experience in technology recruitment but is now focusing on B2C Product alongside Miles and Grace.

Outside of work he’s an avid sports fan following rugby and football religiously. He enjoys taking part himself now and again, tending to forget about his below-average performances in the pub afterwards.
